Freshly Squeezed Lemonade

1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
2 quarts ice cold water

In a small pan toss in the sugar and 2 cups water. Set heat at medium and bring to a simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Let cool. In a large pitcher toss in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the remaining cold water. Pour the sugar mixture into the pitcher and stir well. Chill in the refrigerator until served.
Note-You can sweeten to your taste after prepared. Some like it a bit tart and others like this a bit sweet. The choice is always yours.
