1 1/3 cup sifted cake flour
1 cup and 2 tbsp sugar
2 cup egg whites
2 tsp cream of tarter
1/3 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups sugar
Sift flour and 1 cup and 2 tbsp sugar together. Beat egg whites, cream of tarter, salt and vanilla until foamy. Use a large bowl, gradually add 1 1/4 cups sugar, beating till stiff peaks are formed. Sift in flour and sugar mixture gradually. folding gently till all flour and sugar are blended with egg mixture. Put in square cake pan. Cut through batter with a knife to eliminate all air bubbles. Bake in 350 oven about 1 hour or until it looks done. Invert and let cool.
