Vanilla Cream Filling (Agnes)

1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup scalded milk
2 tsp butter
 1 tsp vanilla

This is all that is listed.  I'm thinking it's for cakes.  Not sure I'm hoping to find more as I go through the box.
