Christmas Tree Cookies

2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract

In a mixer toss in sugar and butter and beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract then slowly add flour and salt. blend well. Separate the dough into 2 sections and wrap in plastic wrap then refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Roll dough to about 1/8 inch on a lightly floured surface, (I like mine a little bit thicker) Cut with tree cutters and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown.

Icing
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk or lemon or orange juice
Food coloring of your choice. Colored cake paste will work too

In a bowl toss in sugar and liquid blend well.

You can make any shaped cookies and any color. For the Christmas Trees most of the icing will need to be green and small portion for red.

This is were your creativity is limitless. Have fun!!
