Pizza Dough

4¼ cup flour (you can use bread flour too)
2¼ tsp yeast
1 ½ tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
1½ cup warm water

Toss in 4 cups of flour, yeast and the salt into an electric mixer with the dough blade attached. Begin mixing and then slowly add the oil then the water until a rough ball forms, let mix until a ball forms. Here you can continue to knead in the mixer or do the rest by hand. The dough will appear smooth and lightly sticky. Oil a bowl, place dough in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let rise until double in size. About 1 to 1 ½ hours. After it rises you roll it out and prepare your pizza. Bake at 400 degrees until your desired results.

I have noticed that if I use bread flour in this recipe that the crust is crisp and a bit chewy, which is similar to buying a pizza. It will taste great with all purpose flour.

Pizza dough does not need much kneading. The above recipe should take no longer than 5 minutes to mix together.

Note- I make this recipe about 4 to 6 times. I bake what I need and them I gently wrap the left over dough in plastic wrap and place into zip lock freezer bags. When I am ready to use them I pull them from the freezer and let them thaw. I prepare as desired. They are wonderful for those quick meals and kids love to help out. My boys have a blast putting their own creations together but most of all they love to eat them.
