Pumpkin Cookies

1/2 cup butter, room temp
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 tsp orange rind, grated
1 tsp maple extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup raisins

Orange glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
4 tsp orange juice
1/2 tsp orange rind, grated

In a large bow or electric mixer toss in butter, brown sugar, sugar, egg and maple syrup and mix well. Next toss in pumpkin, orange rind, maple extract, cinnamon and allspice. Then in a small bowl toss in the flour, baking soda, salt and whisk together then add this to the pumpkin mixture. Mix until moist and fold in raisins. Butter cookie sheets and drop batter by tablespoons . Bake at 350 until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Remove and let cool on cookie racks. You can eat them as is or drizzle the glaze over the cookies and let them stand until it sets. Yummy.
