1 8oz package of cream cheese (use only regular)
1 package of sandwich cookies (Oreos)
2 8oz packages of semisweet baking chocolate
In a mixer toss in the cream cheese and blend until smooth. Crush the sandwich cookies until the are fine crumbs. ( I toss them into a blender, but one could use a ziplock bag and a roller to smash them) Toss 3 cups of the fine crumbs into the mixer with the cream cheese and blend well. Shape into 1" balls. Melt the chocolate in a small sauce pan and dip the balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Refrigerate until they are firm about 1 hour.
We sprinkle these with colored sprinkles for holidays, or sprinkled with finely chopped nuts. I have even drizzled white chocolate over them. I have made them with all different types of sandwich cookies and white chocolate and they work well. Caution, you will most likely eat more than one so I make double batches. I store them in the freezer and then take them out as I need them. (the boys eat them out of the freezer) Although, you can store these in the refrigerator and they will stay fresh.
