Marinara Sauce

1 Tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 can whole tomatoes in juice, (28oz)
1/3 cup Basil, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

In a saucepan heat oil on med heat until hot. Toss in onion and cook until tender about 10 minutes.  Toss in garlic, tomatoe paste and stir well. Add tomatoes and juice.  Bring to a boil and break up the tomatoes as you stir.  Add salt and pepper then redue heat and let simmer for 15 minutes.  Stir in basil.

makes about 3 1/2 cups.
