2 Tbsp butter
1/2 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 cups of tomatoes, diced (or you can use 2 cans of diced tomatoes)
2 Tbsp fresh basil, chopped (or 2 tsp heaping dried basil)
In a saucepan toss in the butter and melt over medium heat. Toss in onion and garlic. Saute these for about 2 minutes until onion is clear. Toss in the tomatoes and basil cook until the tomatoes are soft.
I use this for pastas and pizza sauce. It's so easy and taste wonderful. You can add fresh ground sea salt and black pepper if you like.
